Proyecto "Análisis de la arquitectura fenicio-púnica de Menorca"
Fieldwork of the project "Analysis of Phoenician-Punic architecture in Menorca" has finished directed by Fernando Prados Martínez, Lecturer of Archaeology of the University of Alicante. Works of photogrammetry and paramental study have been developed during August and next months will be held graphic data processing and registration of documentation at the Department.
In this first campaign efforts have focused on the study of the defensive structures of the post-talayotic period with regard to the characterization of different elements corresponding to the fortification of many island enclaves during the Second Punic War, at the end of the century III BC. Have been analysed the defenses in towns of Trepucó, Torrellafuda, Talatí de DaltTorralba and So na Caçana.
A first preview of the results will be presented next week at the VI Balearic Island Archaeology Seminar wich will take place in Formentera between 26th and 28th September.
